Counselling
Sometimes we may not be able to make sense of what is going on in our lives, and that can be challenging.

"It's ok not to be ok""

Counselling can help explore, and uncover those parts of you that may feel out of balance, and once ready, you can begin to build a stronger sense of self, and enable life to be experienced more fully.

Counselling Adults and Young People

I believe we are all individuals shaped by our own unique experiences. Counselling can help you explore, challenge your thoughts and support you on your journey. The therapeutic relationship is there to encourage and empower you to find your path and where needed, make changes.

As an integrative counsellor, I use a combination of different types of therapeutic interventions tailored to you. This includes solution focussed, relationship focussed, person centred, psychodynamic, transactional analysis and CBT.
Our work may lead to looking at your past, as well as your present, this helps to show the strategies, mechanisms and "stories told" you have put in place which protect and support you.

Solution Focussed therapy is proving to be very effective modality, it is a goal-orientated approach that emphasises solutions rather than problems, focussing on small achievable changes to build momentum towards lasting improvement.

The therapeutic approach is individual to every client based on their presenting concerns and experiences, I support this by using an approach tailored to you. Please see above for the theories I work within. What is offered is a safe confidential space without judgement to explore concerns.

Working with young people, age 14+:
Many young people will struggle with their mental health at some point, this is something I understand and have supported throughout my career with my work in schools, colleges and universities. The impact this can have on them and their support networks can be immeasurable.

Often the thoughts they have are negative, or self sabotaging, this can lead to a belief that "everything I think about myself is true". The work we would do together can unpick these beliefs and build a more positive mindset, with the tools they need to support themselves moving forward.

For many young people they are still understanding who they are, this may include exploring neurodiversity. Although counselling cannot offer a diagnosis there is space to help them learn and grow throughout the process.

Most of my counselling work is offered online, or I offer walk and talk sessions in Bromley/ Beckenham in South London.
I have worked with many areas of focus including, but not limited to:
